The setting
A luxury wedding can still feel like home
Arcticmint is a family-owned villa on the shore of Lake Norvajärvi, where the lake flows into the river and the forest comes right down to the water. For generations it has been the family’s own retreat, and you can feel it: warm wooden floors, two living rooms, an open kitchen made for long dinners and windows full of lake and sky. For your wedding the whole villa is yours — no other guests and no shared spaces, just the people you love under one roof.
There is something deeply Finnish about celebrating this way: by the lake, surrounded by family, good food and nature, with time simply to be together. We have styled a wedding for fifteen guests here, with the ceremony in the villa’s own yard, the lake as part of the setting and the dinner brought right into the villa. In summer the light never quite leaves; in winter the north-facing lakeshore is one of the most beautiful places we know to watch the northern lights.
What we design here
Styled for this place
Lakeside ceremonies
An arch or an aisle in the villa’s own yard with the lake as the backdrop, styled for the season — from summer flowers to candlelight in the snow.
Dinners at home
Long tables inside the villa or by the fire in the Lapland hut, with tablescapes, florals and stationery designed around you and the space.
The wedding weekend
Sauna, the lake, long dinners and time together — a relaxed family weekend, elevated into a fully planned and beautifully styled celebration.
Venue details
Everything you need to know
What is possible here, when, and how the day can flow — gathered from our own weddings at the venue and from the venue team.
What is possible
Intimate weddings and elopements for your closest family and friends, vow renewals, proposals and private celebrations. The whole villa is reserved just for you, and we plan and style the entire wedding weekend around it — from the ceremony in the yard to the dinner, the sauna and the morning after.
Seasons & availability
Beautiful all year round: snowy forest, a frozen lake and the northern lights in winter, the midnight sun and long lakeside evenings in summer, and blazing autumn colours in September. Weddings and celebrations can be arranged in every season.
Ceremony locations
Outdoors in the villa’s own lakeside yard, with Lake Norvajärvi as the backdrop — an arch at the water’s edge in summer, or candlelight in the snow in winter. For a smaller moment, the open fire of the traditional Lapland hut.
Reception & dining
Two options: a wedding dinner inside the villa, around the open kitchen and dining area, or a dinner by the open fire in the Lapland hut for a smaller group. Professional catering is arranged on site, and we design the tablescapes, flowers and stationery around the two of you and the space. A wedding for around fifteen guests fits beautifully.
Staying the night
Yes — four bedrooms for up to eight guests, with two and a half bathrooms and two living rooms, so the two of you and your closest family can stay under one roof all weekend. More accommodation for other guests is a short drive away in Rovaniemi.
Extras & experiences
The private wood-heated lakeside sauna, more than 100 years old, and a barrel hot tub filled with fresh lake water, booked in advance as the Arctic Spa. Ice swimming, a salmon dinner in the Lapland hut, a visit to the host’s reindeer, snowshoeing, forest skiing, ice fishing and guided trips through the family’s own forest and across the lake.
Good to know
About 20 minutes from Rovaniemi city centre and 15 minutes from Rovaniemi Airport and Santa Claus Village. The villa is best reached by car; the host also offers transport and can stock the kitchen before you arrive. Step-free access and parking are available.
